About The Position

Cherry Bekaert, a leading accounting and consulting firm, is seeking a Senior Tax Manager for its Torrance, CA office. This role involves managing client tax compliance, identifying tax planning opportunities, and serving as the primary client contact. The Senior Tax Manager will also be responsible for training junior staff and handling complex tax matters for middle-market clients across various industries. The position requires strong analytical, project management, and communication skills, with a focus on delivering superior client service.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Must be CPA certified with an active CPA license
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in public accounting
  • Minimum of 2 years of managerial experience
  • Strong background and understanding of C and S Corporation, LLC, and Partnership taxation
  • Demonstrated background in working with pass-through entity taxation
  • Candidates should be accustomed to working as the main point of contact with the client
  • Candidates will be comfortable in managing workflows, deadlines, deliverables, and client communications
  • Candidates must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States
  • Cherry Bekaert will not provide work sponsorship for this position

  • Preferred partnership experience includes entity structuring, operating agreement review and consultation, compliance, allocations, partner transactions and related matters
  • Experience with complex individual tax compliance and planning as well as estate tax compliance and planning are a plus

  • Anticipate tax and business issues
  • Recognize tax planning opportunities
  • Manage workflows, deadlines, deliverables, and client communications
  • Train and develop less experienced professional staff
  • Solve problems for middle-market clients in industries such as manufacturing, real estate and construction, professional services, and others
  • Manage engagements and providing knowledgeable review of complex individual and partnership returns
  • Build and serve our high net-worth individual clients with estate, gift and trust tax planning and compliance needs
  • Leverage strong project management, analytical, interpersonal, and communication abilities
  • Lead tax staff, seniors, and managers in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Demonstrate superior client service skills
