CohnReznick currently has an exciting career opportunity for a Tax Senior Associate to join our Commercial Services Team in our New York City office. CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered hybrid which means team members are expected to be thoughtful and intentional in how they create opportunities for in-person collaboration. While the cadence of in-office presence is determined at the team level, our professionals are encouraged to be in the office/together in person on average 3 days a week. CohnReznick’s Commercial Services Industry Group focuses on serving clients in the Consumer, Hospitality, and Manufacturing & Distribution sectors. The group works with middle‑market and growth‑oriented companies, providing integrated advisory, assurance, and tax services tailored to the operational, financial, and regulatory challenges these industries face.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • Minimum 3-5 years tax experience in a public accounting firm
  • Proven technical skills with MS Office to include Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Competence with tax compliance and research software to include Go Systems, BNA portfolio and projection, CCH, RIA
  • Solid project management and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task

Nice To Haves

  • Master's in Accounting/Taxation preferred
  • CPA, JD or EA preferred
  • Commercial Services industry experience preferred
  • Exceptional client service and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain outstanding client relationships
  • Strong tax research and writing skills
  • Experience in managing the process of financial statement preparation of compilations and reviews is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the engagement lead on specific client accounts
  • Take responsibility for pre-engagement planning, execution, and final deliverables
  • Assist with the process and review of various returns
  • Must be able to perform various financial analysis including but not limited to balance sheets and income statements
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and annual year-end tax projections
  • Willing to work on various ad hoc projects as needed during the year
  • Actively participate in proposals
  • Manage a team of staff associates, including interns, while providing regular performance coaching and feedback
  • Gain the respect and confidence of the CR team through effective client management, timely and accurate communication, and clear and concise direction and leadership
