We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Tax Manager to join the team in our New York office. CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered hybrid which means team members are expected to be thoughtful and intentional in how they create opportunities for in-person collaboration. While the cadence of in-office presence is determined at the team level, our professionals are encouraged to be in the office/together in person on average 3 days a week. This position will support our Commercial Services Industry Group. CohnReznick’s Commercial Services Industry Group focuses on serving clients in the Consumer, Hospitality, and Manufacturing & Distribution sectors. The group works with middle‑market and growth‑oriented companies, providing integrated advisory, assurance, and tax services tailored to the operational, financial, and regulatory challenges these industries face.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • CPA, JD or EA required
  • Minimum of 6 years of relevant tax experience
  • 2+ years of managerial experience
  • Current experience with commercial services clients
  • Strong tax research skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation (verbal and written) skills, as well as exceptional client service skills
  • Proven competence with MS Office and tax compliance and research software, including ProSystem, CCH Axcess and CCH Engagement
  • Solid project management and organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to multi-task.

  • Master's in Accounting/Taxation preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage tax compliance and tax advisory engagements in the Commercial Services Industry group.
  • Determine resource requirements and work with a team to ensure exceptional client service
  • Manage expectations with team members and monitor engagement progress
  • Review partnership and corporate tax returns and ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Research tax issues and filing requirements that affect tax compliance
  • Research complex tax issues using internal revenue code, treasury regulations and other relevant authorities/guidance
  • Draft tax technical memorandums and share knowledge to develop team members
  • Identify opportunities to expand the scope of current engagements through identification of current client needs and target client requirements
  • Actively participate in proposal development, at the direction of management, and take a lead role responding to requests for proposal
  • Demonstrate initiative, vision, resourcefulness, creativity and independent thinking. Lead by example
