Our tax resolution team works to prevent, manage, and resolve tax and penalty issues. You will play a critical role that advocates for Dayforce and our clients to maintain almost near-perfect compliance records across 8,000+ tax jurisdictions.

Requirements

  • Associated degree or higher, or equivalent 1-3 years of related tax/payroll/accounting experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Client service experience with a focus on net promoter score (NPS) and driving client value
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local payroll tax laws
  • Experience with tax research and penalty abatement requests
  • Analytical ability, technical, and quality orientation in problem resolution
  • Business-minded and always looking for ways to drive revenue and cost savings and do processes smarter
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work in a very fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in working within Windows environment, business applications, and proprietary desktop tool sets

Nice To Haves

  • Qualification to represent taxpayers before taxing authorities (attorney, Certified Public Accountant, Enrolled Agent, etc.)
  • Experience in customer relationship management (CRM) software, specifically Salesforce case management.

Responsibilities

  • Research complex tax issues to develop effective tax resolution strategies.
  • Demonstrate a broad knowledge of tax jurisdictions and skill sets(federal, state, and local taxing authorities), showing flexibility in assignment and dependability in execution.
  • Perform tax account reconciliations, often reviewing agency transcripts and investigating account issues.
  • Investigate root cause issues and guide prevention and risk mitigation.
  • Draft and/or review penalty abatement letters, putting together compelling defenses, substantiated by taxing authorities (often due to reasonable cause).
  • Communicate with internal teammates and external customers to obtain information or required approvals for tax jurisdiction issues. You will participate in customer conference calls as needed.
  • Negotiate with agencies and customers to ensure all involved are satisfied with the solution.
  • Maintain compliance and minimize tax risks by following strict policies.
  • Update the senior leadership team on cases and progress.
  • Partner with other internal departments to resolve issues, remove barriers, establish service level agreements, drive revenue, and improve processes impacting tax operations and customer experience.
  • Perform other duties or special projects as assigned that are specific to the essential operations of the business.
