Requirements

  • Understanding of federal, state, and local laws affecting relief programs.
  • Proficiency in handling program-related forms, documents, and manuals.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to make informed decisions.
  • Competence in data evaluation and applicant interviewing.
  • Proficiency in using office machines, including word processing and spreadsheets.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to organize tasks, manage deadlines, and maintain attention to detail.
  • High level of accuracy and integrity in handling sensitive information
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Three years of experience in financial analysis, accounting, customer relations, or public service.
  • Equivalent education and/or experience will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, explaining program requirements, and assisting with forms.
  • Conduct interviews with applicants to determine eligibility for various relief programs.
  • Verify and evaluate applicant information for consistency, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Maintain confidential program files and adhere to state and local record retention laws.
  • Prepare, review, and process documents to meet program deadlines.
  • Identify and report any suspected fraud or inconsistencies.
  • Collaborate with Commissioner of the Revenue staff to ensure accuracy in tax records.
  • Utilize computer systems to manage data entry, file maintenance, and eligibility determinations.
  • Prepare reports, correspondence, and documentation related to program administration.
