Tax Product Specialist

Filed•New York, NY
•$100,100 - $118,300

About The Position

Filed is hiring a Tax Product Specialist to take firms from signing up to successfully using Filed in their work. The role combines tax expertise, customer-facing product demonstrations, group onboarding, training, relationship management, and feedback to product and engineering teams. Specialists typically support 5 to 10 firms at a time through onboarding and remain their point of contact during the eight-week period that determines whether they succeed. The work is fast-paced, especially in December and January, with firms expected to complete implementation before the February 1 freeze. The specialist explains product behavior to tax professionals, including when they disagree with system output, and helps manage expectations about probabilistic systems. The position does not involve signing returns or building a personal client book. Filed describes the team as high-performance, collaborative, accountable, and focused on customer experience. The role is assessed at Level 3, with three stated salary-and-equity offers that vary by location and equity selection.

Requirements

  • Have prepared or reviewed real tax returns inside a real firm; credentials are welcome but not required.

  • Have a high degree of confidence using at least a few major tax platforms, such as CCH Axcess, UltraTax, Lacerte, ProConnect, Drake, or GoSystem.
  • Learn software quickly, including new product interfaces, workflows, and integrations.
  • Be comfortable making decisions with incomplete information and handling uncertainty.
  • Be empathetic and curious, and build for users as well as technical correctness.
  • Collaborate across product, engineering, and tax teams.
  • Be detail-oriented and pragmatic, with judgment about when precision matters and when to move forward.
  • Take ownership of work and welcome accountability.
