About The Position

As a Tax Preparer Assistant, you’ll help people make confident, informed decisions about their lives, careers, and money while building client relationships. You’ll assist at the beginning and end of tax interviews, support client service, and complete related duties. The role is at a franchise location.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reading and math skills required to begin and finish the tax return interview.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
• Previous experience with Windows-based computer programs.
• Additional state and local requirements may apply.

Nice To Haves

• Additional course work in math, accounting, or finance.

Responsibilities

• Enter client and W-2 information into the tax program at the beginning of the tax interview.
• Assemble the tax return, obtain required signatures, review the finished product with the client, and complete bookkeeping procedures at the close of the interview.
• Ensure H&R Block clients receive superior service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
