About The Position
As a Tax Preparer Assistant, you will help clients make confident, informed decisions and build client relationships. You will support the beginning and closing stages of tax interviews, help assemble and review tax returns, obtain required signatures, and complete bookkeeping procedures. You will also help ensure clients receive superior service and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reading and math skills required to begin and finish the tax return interview.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
- Previous experience with Windows-based computer programs.
- Additional state and local requirements may apply.
Nice To Haves
- Additional coursework in math, accounting, or finance.
Responsibilities
- Enter client and W-2 information into the tax program to assist with the beginning of the tax interview.
- Assemble the tax return, obtain required signatures, review the finished product with the client, and complete bookkeeping procedures to assist with closing the interview.
- Ensure all H&R Block clients receive superior service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
