About The Position

The Tax Preparer Assistant supports tax interviews and helps clients make confident, informed decisions. The role involves entering client and W-2 information into the tax program, assisting with interview closing tasks, and ensuring clients receive superior service. Additional state and local requirements may apply.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reading and math skills required to begin and finish the tax return interview.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
• Previous experience with Windows-based computer programs.
• Additional state and local requirements may apply.

Nice To Haves

• Additional coursework in math, accounting, or finance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the beginning of the tax interview by entering client and W-2 information into the tax program.
• Assist with closing the interview by assembling the tax return, obtaining required signatures, reviewing the finished product with the client, and completing bookkeeping procedures.
• Ensure all H&R Block clients receive superior service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
