About The Position
The Tax Preparer Assistant supports tax interview and return-preparation processes at an H&R Block franchise location. The role helps clients make informed decisions by providing service and supporting the preparation and completion of tax returns.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reading and math skills required to begin and finish the tax return interview.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
- Previous experience with Windows-based computer programs.
- Additional state and local requirements may apply.
Nice To Haves
- Additional coursework in math, accounting, or finance.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the beginning of the tax interview by entering client and W-2 information into the tax program.
- Assist with closing the interview by assembling the tax return, obtaining required signatures, reviewing the finished product with the client, and completing bookkeeping procedures.
- Ensure all H&R Block clients receive superior service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
