About The Position
As a Tax Preparer Assistant at an H&R Block franchise location, you will help clients make confident, informed decisions and build client relationships. You will assist with the beginning and closing stages of tax interviews, support the preparation and review of tax returns, and provide superior client service. Additional state and local requirements may apply.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reading and math skills required to begin and finish the tax return interview.
- Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
- Previous experience with Windows-based computer programs.
- Additional state and local requirements may apply.
Nice To Haves
- Additional coursework in math, accounting, or finance.
Responsibilities
- Enter client and W-2 information into the tax program at the beginning of the tax interview.
- Assemble the tax return and obtain required signatures at the close of the interview.
- Review the finished tax return with the client.
- Complete bookkeeping procedures.
- Ensure H&R Block clients receive superior service.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
