The Tax Preparer Assistant supports the beginning and closing of tax interviews, helps assemble and review tax returns with clients, and completes related bookkeeping procedures while ensuring superior client service. Additional state and local requirements may apply.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reading and math skills required to begin and finish the tax return interview.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
• Previous experience with Windows-based computer programs.
• Additional state and local requirements may apply.

Nice To Haves

• Additional course work in math, accounting, or finance.

Responsibilities

• Enter client and W-2 information into the tax program at the beginning of the tax interview.
• Assemble the tax return and obtain required signatures when closing the interview.
• Review the finished tax return with the client.
• Complete bookkeeping procedures.
• Ensure all H&R Block clients receive superior service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
