About The Position

As a Tax Preparer Assistant at a franchise location, you will help clients make confident, informed decisions about their lives, careers, and money while building client relationships. You will assist with the beginning and closing portions of tax interviews, support preparation and review of tax returns, and provide superior client service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reading and math skills required to begin and finish the tax return interview.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
• Previous experience with Windows-based computer programs.
• Additional state and local requirements may apply.

Nice To Haves

• Additional coursework in math, accounting, or finance.

Responsibilities

• Enter client and W-2 information into the tax program at the beginning of the tax interview.
• Assemble the tax return and obtain required signatures when closing the interview.
• Review the completed tax return with the client.
• Complete bookkeeping procedures.
• Ensure all H&R Block clients receive superior service.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
