About The Position

As a Tax Preparer Assistant at a franchise location, you will help clients make confident, informed decisions about their lives, careers, and money while building client relationships. You will support the beginning and closing portions of tax interviews, help assemble and review tax returns, obtain required signatures, and complete bookkeeping procedures. You will also ensure clients receive superior service and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reading and math skills required to begin and finish the tax return interview.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person and on the phone.
• Previous experience with Windows-based computer programs.
• Additional state and local requirements may apply.

Nice To Haves

• Additional coursework in math, accounting, or finance.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the beginning of the tax interview by entering client and W-2 information into the tax program.
• Assist with closing the interview by assembling the tax return, obtaining required signatures, reviewing the finished product with the client, and completing bookkeeping procedures.
• Ensure all H&R Block clients receive superior service.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
