About The Position

Ritholtz Wealth Management (RWM) is seeking an experienced Tax Planner to join their integrated tax practice. This role involves working closely with wealth advisors to deliver proactive financial strategies, not just annual returns. The tax practice handles over 700 individual tax filings annually, along with ongoing tax projections, Roth conversion analysis, charitable strategies, and income planning. This is an opportunity to have a significant impact on client outcomes and grow within a scaling practice.

Requirements

3–5 years of experience in public accounting, tax filing, tax planning, or financial planning
Strong individual income tax knowledge
CPA or EA required (or actively in progress); Or a CFP with a desire to provide proactive tax planning & preparation.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple client engagements simultaneously
A clear, confident communicator, both written and verbal
Comfortable collaborating across distributed teams and roles
Excited to work in a fast-moving, growth-oriented environment
Applicants must be local to the Philadelphia area (Ambler, PA) or planning to relocate prior to start.

Nice To Haves

Experience with high-net-worth clients a plus
CCH Axcess or other professional tax software
Schwab, Fidelity, or equivalent custodian platform
Orion or other portfolio management platform
Salesforce or equivalent CRM

Responsibilities

Build and review comprehensive client tax plans and multi-year projections
Prepare and review individual income tax returns as part of the annual filing cycle
Partner with wealth advisors to develop and implement tax-efficient strategies aligned with clients' financial goals
Identify planning opportunities: Roth conversions, tax-loss harvesting, charitable strategies, estimated tax planning, and more
Communicate tax concepts clearly to clients and advisors, translating complexity into actionable guidance
Ensure billing accuracy and maintain clean client records
Contribute to the continued build-out and improvement of the tax practice
