About The Position

Cherry Bekaert is seeking an experienced Tax Partner to join its growing Tax Practice in Dallas, TX. This leadership role focuses on partnership taxation and involves serving as a trusted advisor to privately held businesses, private equity-backed portfolio companies, and complex partnerships. The position offers the opportunity to build market presence, advise on sophisticated tax transactions, and collaborate across service lines to deliver integrated solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep technical expertise in Subchapter K and a strong understanding of partnership structuring, allocations, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Significant public accounting experience with extensive expertise in partnership taxation and Subchapter K planning.
  • Demonstrated experience advising private equity-backed portfolio companies, operating partnerships, and closely held businesses.
  • Deep technical knowledge of partnership allocation methodologies, basis adjustments, transaction structuring, and complex partnership compliance requirements.
  • Proven ability to serve as a lead advisor on sophisticated tax planning and consulting engagements involving partnership entities.
  • Established professional network within the Dallas market and a demonstrated track record of developing and maintaining client relationships.
  • Strong business development capabilities with the ability to identify opportunities, grow revenue, and expand market presence.
  • Exceptional leadership, mentoring, and team development skills.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advise executives, private equity stakeholders, and business owners on highly technical tax matters.
  • Candidates must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States. Cherry Bekaert will not provide work sponsorship for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Taxation, JD, or related advanced degree preferred.
  • Previous Private Client Services (PCS), family office, or similar experience is also desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the trusted advisor and primary relationship leader for clients with complex partnership tax needs.
  • Advise private equity-backed portfolio companies, operating partnerships, and middle-market businesses on partnership structuring, allocations, distributions, basis calculations, mergers, acquisitions, and ownership transitions.
  • Lead the delivery and review of federal and multi-state tax compliance, planning, and consulting engagements involving complex partnership structures.
  • Partner with private equity sponsors, management teams, and business owners to develop tax-efficient strategies supporting growth, transactions, and long-term value creation.
  • Identify and cultivate opportunities to expand existing client relationships through proactive advisory services and collaboration across Cherry Bekaert's tax, advisory, and assurance practices.
  • Mentor, coach, and develop tax professionals, fostering technical excellence and a high-performing client service culture.
  • Contribute to Cherry Bekaert's presence in the Dallas market and throughout Texas through networking, thought leadership, speaking engagements, and business development initiatives.
