About The Position

As a Managing Director within the Global Information Reporting Services practice, you will be part of a diverse team with abundant opportunities to grow into a financial industry leader in international tax transparency, transforming Private Equity processes. You will successfully develop, nurture, and manage client relationships by consistently providing timely and appropriate communication and services related to their needs. You will be viewed as a trusted personal and business advisor by clients, providing advisory services to financial institutions regarding FATCA, CRS, Chapter 3 (1042 & 8804 reporting and withholding), and Withholding Foreign Partnerships. This role involves directing multiple engagements including consulting, compliance, and tax planning services, consulting with client service teams to design, communicate, and implement innovative planning ideas for clients, and guiding and managing IRS and state audits. You will also participate and actively contribute to new business development activities, including prospecting, networking, and representing CBIZ at industry and related events. Additionally, you will design and deliver technical training on Individual related tax topics, recruit, supervise, train, develop, and motivate less experienced team members, and promote a team environment by demonstrating support of management decisions and building a positive culture. You will contribute to the management of the internal tax department through committee membership and group leader responsibilities and perform other responsibilities as necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 10 years of experience in public accounting or related field
  • 10 years supervisory experience
  • Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Proven high level of business integrity, client service and leadership skills
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs

Nice To Haves

  • Comprehensive tax planning and consulting experience and demonstrated expertise in FATCA, CRS, Chapter 3 of the Internal Revenue Code, WHFPs, QIs, 871m or other withholding and reporting regimes
  • Market leading technical expertise of 1042, 8804, FATCA & CRS returns, and tax form validation (W-8, W-9 or CRS Self-Certifications)
  • Demonstrated success providing consultative service to global financial services companies with banking and brokerage clients.
  • An ability to effectively present information and appropriately respond to questions from clients and team members
  • A track record of successful new business development experience
  • Excellent analytical, supervisory, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills necessary
  • Experience and continued interest in developing and mentoring junior team members
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Advanced degree such as Masters of Tax, JD, and/or LLM, accounting degree or MBA
  • Previous public accounting or law firm experience
