About The Position

We are seeking a highly qualified Tax Manager to join our Tax team. The Tax team is responsible for tax planning and reporting as it relates to the funds, the management companies, and the family office. The tax team interacts with various groups within the firm on a regular basis as well as with external parties such as investors, managers, fund administrator, and other service providers. The candidate should bring a strong sense of personal responsibility and ownership of assigned projects and tasks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Meaningful experience in leveraging technology to improve the tax process (Alteryx, PowerBi, Tableau, UiPath, other)
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel (e.g. pivot tables, v and h lookups, index match, etc.)
  • 4-8 years of relevant work experience (hedge fund/partnership tax) preferably including: Calculating taxable income, Partnership tax allocations, US Tax Return Filings (1065, 1120F, 8858, 8865, 5471, 7004, 1042 etc.), FATCA/CRS Filing and Review, Securities tax analysis including dividend analysis, corporate actions, 1256 products, and cross border transactions
  • Attention to detail with a strong work ethic and team-focused attitude
  • Ability to quickly adapt to frequent changes in the business operating environment
  • Have a creative mind and think outside the box when problem solving
  • High organization skills and self-motivation

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Handle day-to-day tax responsibilities and report directly to the US Tax Director.
  • Assist in preparation of various tax computations and work papers for partnership tax filings.
  • Help with automating parts of the tax function.
  • Interact with external tax service providers and review partnership tax compliance prepared by outside tax advisors, including estimates of partnership taxable income items and U.S. tax withholdings for foreign investors.
  • Respond to requests and notices from various taxing authorities.
  • Coordinate and prepare ASC 740 analyses for the funds.
  • Research the tax treatment of complex financial instruments and corporate actions.
  • Assist in estate planning and tax-matters for the family-office side.
  • Help with ad-hoc assignments and special projects.
