About The Position

O&G Industries, Inc., an innovative and diversified construction company based out of Torrington, CT seeks a Tax Manager to join our team. We are a highly respected leader in our field and ranked as one of the top construction firms in the Northeast. The Tax Manager will lead tax compliance, reporting, and planning for O&G and its affiliated entities, overseeing federal, state, and local tax matters, coordinating with external tax advisors, managing tax-related risk, and identifying strategic tax planning opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required
  • 10+ years of progressive tax experience in public accounting, private industry, or a combination of both
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations
  • Strong analytical, research, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple entities, priorities, and deadlines
  • Advanced Excel and tax software proficiency
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound professional judgement

Nice To Haves

  • CPA and/or Master’s degree in Taxation preferred

Responsibilities

  • Manage federal, state, and local income tax compliance and reporting for multiple affiliated entities, including S corporations, partnerships, trusts, and other related entities.
  • Coordinate the preparation and review of annual tax returns and quarterly estimated tax payments for business entities, owners/shareholders, trusts, and family entities, as applicable.
  • Manage tax projections and maintain supporting schedules related to tax basis, distributions, pass-through income allocations, and other owner tax obligations.
  • Partner with external tax advisors, public accounting firms, legal counsel, and other professional advisors on tax matters.
  • Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations, communicate potential impacts to leadership, and identify tax planning opportunities.
  • Support tax-related aspects of acquisitions, restructurings, and other business transactions.
  • Oversee sales and use tax and other applicable indirect and specialty tax compliance, including state, local, and construction-related tax requirements.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for tax audits, examinations, and inquiries from taxing authorities.
  • Maintain accurate tax records, schedules, and supporting documentation and assist with tax-related cash flow planning and budgeting.
