About The Position

As a Tax Manager you will be responsible for working with clients to assist them with the transition of wealth from one generation to the next. A typical day as a Tax Manager might include reviewing gift, estate and fiduciary tax returns, working with staff to ensure these returns are completed correctly by required deadlines and under firm processes, and coaching and mentoring staff. You will also interpret and review various legal documents in relation to estate and business succession planning, assist clients who may have varied levels of estate planning knowledge, and analyze tax situations from various angles to ensure the maximum tax benefit is applied. The role involves implementing planning processes to create plans based on cash flow projections, distribution of income, business succession, estate preservation and estate plan flow. Additionally, you will manage client relationships internally and externally by proactively seeking solutions that add value to the client experience, participate in business development activities, and work with the firm Wealth Transition Services team on various projects.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, an active CPA license, or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification.
  • 5 or more years of experience in public accounting tax work including experience with gift, trust and estate tax returns.
  • Expertise in transfer tax and estate planning.
  • Excellent communicator -- outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Multi-tasking master and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Experience developing business and networking.
  • Authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.

  • Experience with flow-through entities and private foundations.

Responsibilities
