We are seeking a hands-on, strategic, and driven Tax Manager to partner with our local and regional Finance teams and support Fugro's continued growth. This role is responsible for the full tax lifecycle across the United States (including foreign branches) and Canada, including tax provision, compliance, research, and controversy matters. The Tax Manager will also oversee outsourced tax compliance and serve as a key advisor on tax-related matters, balancing strategic insight with operational execution. Requirements

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions.
  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related discipline.
  • Possess 10+ years of corporate and/or public accounting experience.
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite.
  • Project management skills, ability to plan and prioritize work under strict deadlines.
  • Must have excellent and effective oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • 5+ years of management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate the preparation and review of U.S. and Canadian income tax provisions in collaboration with external advisors.
  • Ensure accurate and timely tax reporting in Tagetik and other reporting systems.
  • Review and reconcile tax-related balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and assess impacts on financial reporting and compliance requirements.
  • Manage the preparation, review, and filing of federal, state, provincial, and international tax returns in partnership with external service providers.
  • Oversee estimated tax payments and ensure compliance with filing deadlines.
  • Maintain and monitor the regional tax compliance calendar.
  • Respond to tax authority notices and coordinate resolution of tax compliance matters.
  • Support regional and international tax planning initiatives that align with business objectives.
  • Provide practical tax guidance to finance and business stakeholders.
  • Assess tax implications of business transactions, organizational changes, and strategic initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve tax efficiency and reduce tax risks.
  • Partner closely with Finance, Accounting, and business leaders to ensure tax considerations are incorporated into operational and financial decisions.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to tax processes and reporting.
