Requirements

• 5+ years previous experience in a Tax Department of a Public Accounting firm or other significant tax experience
• Tax return preparation of individual, trust and various types of business returns
• Certified Public Accountant license
• Ability to research and communicate complex tax issues
• Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
• Willingness to interact directly with clients while delivering high quality service and helping maintain positive client relationships
• Proficient in Ultra Tax
• Proficient in Thomson Reuters Engagement Manager software (or similar trial balance software)
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

Responsibilities

• Ownership of tax return preparation of individual, trust and various types of business returns
• Direct client responsibilities and interaction
• Research and communicate complex tax issues
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records
• Ensure clients comply with IRS regulations and meet their state and federal tax obligations
• Review client financial records, income statements and expenditures
• Assist clients with tax planning, identifying opportunities for both tax savings and great long-term decisions
