About The Position

Fondo is hiring a Tax Manager to provide federal and state tax compliance and consulting services to early-stage and high-growth startups across different industries. The role serves as a liaison between a portfolio of clients and outside agencies and partners closely with Fondo’s Accounting and Operations teams to meet client deliverables in a remote, dynamic, fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• At least 4 years of experience in tax accounting, with strong knowledge of general and tax accounting.
• Extensive experience with federal and state corporate tax returns, particularly C-Corps.
• Proficiency in ProConnect, QuickBooks Online, and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience managing financials for multiple clients.
• Working knowledge of international tax.
• Strong written communication skills for process documentation and procedure manuals.
• Adaptability, strategic thinking, comfort with ambiguity, creative problem-solving, and ability to prioritize multiple deadlines.
• Proficiency in computer information systems for presenting financial information, preparing statistical reports, and analyzing financial reports.
• Research skills to analyze data and make recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Enter data into ProConnect Tax Software and conduct international tax return reviews.
• Assist with state and federal filing deadlines.
• Maintain and manage the filing system in cloud-based software.
• Maintain and update client projects in Fondo’s proprietary app.
• Monitor client Slack channels for support needs.
• Research and address client problems or questions.
• Build client relationships and provide planning, consulting, and expertise.
• Review and occasionally support preparation of financial statements.
• Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to implement strategic initiatives.
• Participate in additional projects and duties as assigned.
