About The Position

HireNow Staffing is actively recruiting a seasoned, highly skilled Tax Manager / Senior Manager / Director on behalf of a valued client partner in the public accounting / corporate tax sector. HireNow Staffing is acting as a direct placement partner for this Tax Manager / Senior Manager / Director opportunity. We are seeking an accomplished tax professional who can lead client engagements or internal tax functions, review complex returns, mentor staff, manage deadlines, and provide high-level tax planning guidance. This role requires strong technical tax knowledge, leadership capability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with precision. Requirements

  • 6+ years of progressive tax experience
  • Experience at Manager, Senior Manager, or Director level
  • Strong knowledge of federal and multi-state tax compliance
  • Experience reviewing complex returns and managing deadlines
  • Proven leadership experience supervising tax professionals
  • Strong client-facing or executive communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in deadline-driven environments
  • Ability to work onsite in Phoenix, Arizona
  • Stable employment history with clear progression; candidates with jumpy resumes will not be considered

Nice To Haves

  • CPA required or strongly preferred
  • Public accounting background preferred
  • Experience with pass-through entities, partnerships, S-Corps, and HNW individuals
  • Corporate income tax or ASC 740 experience
  • Business development or client advisory experience
  • Experience leading process improvements and tax technology adoption
  • Strong mentorship and team-building background

Responsibilities

  • Manage tax engagements, filings, and compliance deadlines from planning through completion
  • Review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for entities and individuals
  • Provide proactive tax planning strategies and risk mitigation guidance
  • Supervise, mentor, and develop tax staff and seniors
  • Research technical tax issues and prepare written guidance or recommendations
  • Manage client relationships or internal stakeholder communication effectively
  • Coordinate with accounting, finance, legal, and external advisors as needed
  • Monitor tax law changes and assess impact on business or clients
  • Improve workflow efficiency, quality controls, and tax department processes
  • Support leadership with strategic initiatives and growth planning
