About The Position

The Tax Manager leads client engagements, sets assessment‑review strategy, manages key accounts, and drives measurable tax savings. This role oversees deliverable quality, supports business development, and provides guidance to team members while collaborating across the practice.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Real Estate, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience; property tax, valuation, or accounting preferred.
• Experience in negotiations with the contract appraisal firms (Capital, P&A) and their valuation methodology.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Excellent verbal and written communication; strong problem‑solving capability.
• Strong organizational, research, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Candidates for this position must be located in Texas.

Responsibilities

• Lead and review assessment strategies; represent clients during appeals and hearings with state and local taxing authorities.
• Produce and review analyses supporting DMA’s positions; ensure quality, accuracy, and timely delivery of Reports of Findings and other client communications.
• Utilize DMA valuation models and templates; determine prior client methodologies; identify exemptions and abatements; quantify tax‑savings opportunities.
• Conduct and/or oversee on‑site property inspections.
• Drive business development: identify and scope opportunities, meet with prospects, and effectively communicate DMA’s service lines.
• Manage assigned accounts: develop, sustain, and expand client relationships; serve as the primary point of contact.
• Maintain accurate data in DMA’s review management system for cases, assessments, property/fixed‑asset data, and jurisdictional details.
• Oversee production, billing, and invoicing for assigned work.
• Track and manage jurisdictional deadlines for filings, audits, appeals, protests, and tax‑payment schedules.
• Monitor industry trends and tax developments; share insights with clients and internal teams.
• Work independently while leading cross‑functional efforts; provide guidance and informal coaching to team members.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
