About The Position

Our team is growing! We are seeking a proactive and self-motivated Tax Intern to join our Tax team. BeachFleischman is Arizona's largest locally-owned public accounting firm and one of the Top 200 largest CPA firms in the United States. With offices in Las Vegas, Nevada, as well as Nogales, Phoenix, and Tucson, Arizona, we provide comprehensive accounting, assurance, tax, and advisory services domestic and international businesses, organizations, and entrepreneurs. The Tax Intern completes basic-level corporate, individual, partnership and fiduciary tax returns. Under the supervision of a CPA and assigned buddy, Interns begin to exercise independent judgment and discretion when preparing tax returns based on their knowledge of accounting rules.

Requirements

• Ability to learn complex tax software systems
• Must have strong communication, organizational and analytical skills
• Undergraduate-level accounting student OR graduate-level accounting student
• Must be in good academic standing
• Desire to acquire CPA license

Responsibilities

• Preparation of basic level corporate, individual, partnership, fiduciary and other tax returns, including researching and analyzing tax issues for clients
• Begins to learn, understand, and apply the rules, requirements, and code of conduct of the AICPA, and the authoritative literature established by the FASB and GASB
• Begins to obtain a working knowledge of tax and accounting research techniques and the various research sources, and performs research utilizing those techniques
• Provides assistance to senior accounting staff
• Performs other tax/accounting services and duties as assigned
