About The Position

Elder Hanson & Company, Ltd., an established CPA firm in downtown Naperville, Illinois, is seeking an accounting student for a part-time Tax Intern position during the Spring 2027 tax season (January 18 through April 15). This internship offers practical experience, direct exposure to public accounting, and the opportunity to learn from experienced Certified Public Accountants. The firm provides tax preparation, tax planning, bookkeeping, payroll, financial reporting, and consulting services for closely held professional service businesses and their owners. Requirements

Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
Maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
Comfortable using Microsoft Office.
Demonstrate excellent organization and attention to detail.
Possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
Be dependable and motivated to learn.
Be authorized to work in the United States.
Have reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

Assist with a variety of tax season projects, including organizing confidential client tax information.
Digitize and electronically file documents.
Review files for completeness and accuracy.
Prepare client deliverables for electronic and printed distribution.
Assist with individual income tax return preparation after demonstrating proficiency and based on workload capacity.
Communicate professionally with clients and coworkers.
Work from our downtown Naperville office.
