About The Position
CLA is seeking a Tax Intern for its Dixon, Illinois office for Winter 2028. The role provides experience preparing tax returns and supporting client engagements, while building knowledge of tax procedures, workpapers, systems, and industries through client exposure, peers, and formal training.
Requirements
- Be working toward a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; an Accounting or Finance degree is strongly preferred.
- Be achieving the credit requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam under applicable state requirements.
- Have general knowledge of accounting principles and financial data reporting.
- Be willing to learn new technologies.
- Be proficient with Microsoft Windows and Office products.
- Have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to client sites.
Responsibilities
- Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and other types of tax returns.
- Gain experience and knowledge of tax procedures, workpapers, and systems.
- Support multiple client engagements on time and within budget, identify issues, and communicate progress.
- Expand industry knowledge through exposure to peers and clients and through formal training opportunities.
- Complete research and special projects as needed.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with clients and CLA family members.
