About The Position

CLA is seeking Tax Interns for its Dixon, Illinois office for Winter 2028. The role offers experience preparing tax returns and supporting client engagements, with opportunities to build knowledge of procedures, workpapers, systems, and industries through client exposure, peers, and formal training. Interns complete research and special projects and communicate regularly with clients and CLA colleagues. The compensation range for this position in Illinois is $25.00–$35.00. Requirements

Working toward a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; an Accounting or Finance degree is strongly preferred.
Achieving the credit requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam under state requirements.
General knowledge of accounting principles and financial data reporting.
Willingness to learn new technologies.
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office products.
Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and other types of tax returns.
Gain experience with and knowledge of procedures, workpapers, and systems.
Support multiple client engagements on time and within budget, identifying issues and communicating progress.
Expand industry knowledge through exposure to peers and clients, and formal training opportunities.
Complete research and special projects as needed.
Communicate effectively and regularly with clients and CLA family members.
