About The Position

Signet Jewelers is seeking a Tax Intern for a summer internship. The intern will assist with tax compliance and reporting, including preparation of income tax filings and quarterly and annual income tax provisions. The role also supports tax audits, notices, research, and special projects. This is a hybrid, full-time temporary opportunity for 40 hours per week from May through August 2027, and the intern must be local to Akron, Ohio for the duration of the internship.

Requirements

• Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Taxation.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Flexible and adaptable team player capable of multitasking and delivering high-quality work.
• Must be local to Akron, Ohio for the duration of the internship.

Nice To Haves

• GPA of 3.0 or above preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with preparation of U.S., international, state, and local income tax filings, including estimates, returns, and quarterly projections.
• Assist with timely, accurate, and complete compliance with applicable tax laws, regulations, judicial decisions, and administrative pronouncements.
• Assist with preparation, review, and documentation of quarterly and annual income tax provisions, including identifying and calculating permanent book/tax differences, discrete items, deferred income taxes, uncertain tax positions, and valuation allowances.
• Support special projects as needed by the tax department.
• Respond to notices and assist with federal, state, and foreign tax audits or examinations, including anticipating auditor requests, preparing documents and return support, and researching audit issues.
• Perform additional duties and projects as assigned.
• Maintain consistent regular scheduled attendance.
