About The Position

The Tax Director is responsible for expanding the revenue of existing clients and for short-term and long-term business planning, identifying business opportunities for CBIZ in addition to their individual practice. This role requires effective practice management to meet billing, realization, days outstanding, and individual charge hour objectives. The Tax Director may also be required to meet business development revenue expectations by adding new clients, cross-serving existing clients, and fully executing a personal marketing plan. This position serves as a key client contact, acting as a trusted business advisor. Ensuring quality control standards are met is essential. The role may involve direct client work and staff management, and the individual may serve as an internal advisor on technical matters as a Subject Matter Expert. Additionally, the Tax Director may be a member of the Senior Operations Management Team and is expected to drive a team environment, demonstrate support of management decisions, and build a positive culture. Additional responsibilities may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 8 years of experience in public accounting or related field
  • 6 years of supervisory experience
  • Must have active CPA or equivalent certification
  • Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Proven high level of business integrity, client service and leadership skills
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation or related field preferred
