About The Position

As a member of the Commercial practice, Directors oversee the efforts of multiple client service teams on engagements for a variety of clients, from fast growing early-stage to large multinational public companies. Directors plan, execute, direct, and complete tax projects; provide innovative tax planning, consulting, and compliance expertise to clients; market, design, and implement tax-planning strategies for clients and manage to budget. Directors conduct secondary review of, and have ultimate responsibility for, complex tax returns including federal and state filings, as well as provide ASC 740 tax provision support. Directors maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, ensure deadlines are met, and lead change efforts effectively. Directors are responsible for managing, developing, training, and mentoring Associates and Managers on tax projects and assessing performance for engagement reviews.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree required.
  • Advanced credential allowing for client representation before the Internal Revenue Service required (i.e. CPA or JD).
  • At least 8 years relevant work experience with an accounting firm.
  • At least 4 years of Corporate Tax experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of complex tax issues.
  • Proven leadership and strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a natural facilitator.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient use of technology including MS Excel.
  • Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis upon hire.
  • Will not require sponsorship for employment visa status now or in the future.

  • Accounting, Finance, Economics or related degree preferred.
