About The Position

We are seeking a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join a growing public accounting and advisory practice serving individuals, business owners, partnerships, trusts, and estates. This position offers the opportunity to build on a strong tax foundation while developing broader expertise in tax planning, estate planning, retirement planning, and wealth management. The ideal candidate has approximately 1–3+ years of public accounting or tax experience, enjoys working directly with clients, and is interested in expanding beyond traditional tax compliance into a long-term advisory role. You will work closely with experienced professionals while gaining exposure to sophisticated tax and financial planning matters across a diverse client base. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated CPA who wants to combine technical tax expertise with relationship-driven financial advisory work.

Requirements

  • Active CPA license required.
  • 1–3+ years of public accounting, tax, or closely related experience.
  • Hands-on experience preparing individual and business income tax returns.
  • Strong interest in developing expertise in tax planning, estate planning, retirement planning, financial planning, and wealth management.
  • Desire to grow beyond tax preparation into a broader client advisory role.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work directly with clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines during busy tax seasons.
  • Willingness to work additional hours during peak filing periods.
  • Ability to work on-site in Oradell, New Jersey.

  • Familiarity with partnership, trust, and estate taxation is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, businesses, partnerships, trusts, and estates.
  • Assist with year-round tax planning, projections, and strategies designed to help clients manage their tax obligations effectively.
  • Support estate planning, retirement planning, wealth management, and other financial advisory initiatives.
  • Participate in client meetings to discuss tax matters, financial goals, planning opportunities, and recommendations.
  • Research federal and state tax laws and apply findings to client-specific situations.
  • Identify potential tax-saving and planning opportunities for individuals and business owners.
  • Collaborate with senior accounting, tax, and advisory professionals on complex client engagements.
  • Assist with trust and estate taxation and related planning matters.
  • Maintain accurate client records, workpapers, and supporting documentation.
  • Manage assigned engagements and deadlines, particularly during peak tax filing periods.
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships through responsive, professional communication.
  • Assist with accounting, bookkeeping, and other advisory services as needed.
  • Stay current on changes in tax laws, regulations, financial planning strategies, and industry developments.
