About The Position

We are seeking a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join a growing tax and advisory practice serving individuals, business owners, partnerships, trusts, and estates. This role is ideal for a CPA who wants to build on their tax experience while developing expertise in tax planning, estate and trust matters, retirement planning, and wealth management. The ideal candidate has 1–3+ years of public accounting or tax experience, strong hands-on tax preparation skills, and an interest in developing into a client-facing advisor. You will work closely with experienced tax and financial professionals while gaining exposure to increasingly complex planning and advisory engagements. This is an excellent opportunity for a CPA seeking a long-term career that combines technical tax expertise with financial planning and relationship-driven advisory work.

Requirements

  • Active CPA license required.
  • 1–3+ years of public accounting, tax, or closely related experience.
  • Hands-on experience preparing individual and business income tax returns.
  • Experience with partnership, trust, and estate taxation is strongly preferred.
  • Solid understanding of federal and state tax regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Strong interest in tax planning, estate planning, retirement planning, financial planning, and wealth management.
  • Desire to grow beyond tax compliance into a broader client advisory role.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and competing deadlines, particularly during tax season.
  • Willingness to work additional hours during peak filing periods.
  • Ability to work on-site in Oradell, New Jersey.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, businesses, partnerships, trusts, and estates.
  • Assist with year-round tax planning, projections, and tax-saving strategies.
  • Support estate, trust, retirement, wealth management, and financial planning engagements.
  • Participate in client meetings to discuss tax matters, financial goals, planning opportunities, and recommendations.
  • Research federal and state tax laws and apply findings to client-specific situations.
  • Identify tax-saving and financial planning opportunities for individuals and business owners.
  • Assist with trust and estate taxation and related planning matters.
  • Collaborate with senior tax, accounting, and advisory professionals on complex engagements.
  • Manage assigned client engagements, deliverables, and deadlines throughout the year.
  • Maintain accurate workpapers, client records, and supporting documentation.
  • Build strong client relationships through professional, responsive communication.
  • Provide accounting, bookkeeping, and related advisory support as needed.
  • Stay current on changes to tax laws, regulations, and relevant financial planning strategies.
