About The Position

Reporting to the Enterprise Tax Director, the US Tax Analyst Contractor is a vital support asset for the day-to-day operations of the U.S. Tax function based in our NY office. Primarily focused on executing US federal, state, and local tax compliance, this role also provides support on tax provisions, reporting, and ad hoc advisory projects. Through their tax expertise, they will help ensure the tax department runs smoothly and acts as a reliable partner to the broader organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3 to 5 years working in tax
  • Public accounting firm or multinational corporation experience preferred
  • Strong technical foundation in tax compliance and provision work
  • Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP
  • Excellent attention to detail and highly accurate
  • Strong work ethic and highly motivated team player
  • Flexible nature, ability to multi-task in an efficient, organized manner
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Proficient in Google Suite, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)

Nice To Haves

  • CPA designation or Master in Taxation is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the tax reporting and compliance for U.S. entities, including corporate income tax, sales & use state and local tax filings, estimated tax payments, and extensions.
  • Support the US Tax Manager with the quarterly and annual tax provision process for U.S. entities in accordance with ASC 740 and FIN 48 analysis, assisting in the calculation of current and deferred taxes.
  • Help prepare foreign affiliate reporting and related tax computations, such as E&P calculations.
  • Assist in responding to federal and state tax audits, inquiries, and notices by compiling the necessary documentation and data analysis.
  • Prepare supporting audit schedules and compile necessary data for statutory and regulatory financial audits.
  • Assist the Tax Manager on ad hoc advisory assignments and partner with cross-functional teams to support informed business decisions.
  • Support the evaluation of tax planning strategies and research tax implications of new U.S. business initiatives.
  • Assist in compiling information and reviewing reports to ensure U.S. entities remain in compliance with transfer pricing requirements.
  • Actively research and monitor federal, state, and local tax developments to keep the tax team informed.
  • Assist in maintaining the state and local income tax and sales & use tax nexus and taxability studies for the group.
  • Compile data for cash tax forecasting schedules for U.S. entities, including drafting U.S. federal and state/local tax estimates for quarterly installments.
  • Prepare U.S. W8/W9 forms as required and help maintain accurate documentation for FATCA status.
