As a Tax Analyst II, you will support the organization's transaction tax compliance activities by preparing tax filings, analyzing financial data, and maintaining accurate tax records. This role partners with accounting, finance, and operational teams to ensure compliance with applicable tax regulations while identifying opportunities to improve processes, mitigate risk, and support business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in transaction tax, sales and use tax, indirect tax compliance, or related accounting/tax functions.
  • Knowledge of transaction tax regulations, compliance requirements, and accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and communicate data effectively.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification or progress toward certification.
  • Public accounting experience.
  • Experience preparing sales and use tax, motor fuel tax, excise tax, or other indirect tax filings.
  • Experience supporting tax audits and responding to regulatory inquiries.
  • Experience with cloud-based ERP systems and tax automation tools

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file transaction tax returns, including sales and use, motor fuel, excise, and other indirect tax filings, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Analyze financial and operational data to support tax reporting requirements, identify potential issues, and recommend process improvements.
  • Research tax laws, regulations, and technical matters to support compliance activities and identify potential tax savings opportunities.
  • Prepare account reconciliations, maintain supporting documentation, and ensure the completeness and accuracy of tax-related records.
  • Respond to tax notices and information requests and assist with internal and external audit activities.
  • Develop and provide reports, analyses, and supporting data to business partners and stakeholders.
  • Collaborate across departments to resolve issues, improve compliance processes, and support changing business needs.
