About The Position

Wealth Enhancement is an independent wealth management firm seeking a Tax Advisor. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality tax advice, planning, and tax return preparation services to assigned clients, ensuring high client and Wealth Enhancement Financial Advisor satisfaction through diligent work and collaborative interactions. This is a Hybrid position. The base salary range for this position is $85,000.00 to $110,000.00, exclusive of bonuses and benefits.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)
  • CPA, Enrolled Agent (EA), or JD required; JD preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of tax accounting experience
  • Experience preparing high net worth individual tax returns (1040)
  • Experience in tax planning and tax projections
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, CCH Axcess/ProSystems, and CCH Intelliconnect
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent financial acuity and bookkeeping skills
  • Collaborative, with a strong team orientation

Responsibilities

  • Prepare tax returns and related work documents for individuals, and, if applicable, for partnerships, S-corporations, C-corporations, trusts, estates, foundations, payroll, sales tax, and foreign reporting (FBAR).
  • Prepare tax strategies and projections.
  • Provide tax planning advice to clients and their WEG Financial Advisors.
  • Conduct tax research and planning, utilizing resources such as CCH Intelliconnect, BNA projections, special research projects, and retirement account recommendations.
  • Review and respond to tax notices.
  • Respond to state and federal auditor inquiries and work towards their resolution.
  • Amend tax returns.
  • Identify and operationalize improvements in processes, systems, tools, and communications to enhance effectiveness, productivity, and responsiveness.
  • Identify opportunities to increase value delivered to clients and revenue for WETCS and Financial Advisor teams.
  • Promote WETCS service offerings to assigned tax clients when appropriate.
  • Ensure urgent or high-impact issues affecting assigned clients are promptly resolved.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Financial Advisor teams and clients.
  • Collaborate with team members to enhance team effectiveness, productivity, and satisfaction.
  • Share tax expertise and assist team members as needed.
  • Contribute to a positive and engaged team culture.
  • Maintain expertise in all aspects of tax compliance.
  • Maintain proficiency in tax-related software, tools, and procedures used at WETCS.
  • Expand tax expertise in at least one area of tax each year through continuing professional education and individual learning.
  • Stay informed about current trends in tax and the tax services industry.
  • Answer tax-related questions and act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Financial Advisor teams and other WEG employees.
  • All other duties as assigned.
