About The Position

The Corporate Tax Accountant II is responsible for preparing and managing federal and state tax compliance activities for multiple company entities. This role analyzes financial records, computes taxes owed in accordance with applicable laws and regulations, and utilizes tax software to prepare and file returns accurately and timely. The position also advises management on the tax implications of business activities and identifies strategies to minimize tax liabilities while ensuring compliance with all tax reporting and payment requirements. In addition, this role supports IRS and state tax audits by providing documentation, responding to inquiries, and assisting throughout the audit process.

Requirements

  • 5–7 years of experience in corporate taxation
  • Experience preparing corporate and partnership tax returns, including state income and franchise tax returns
  • Knowledge of year-end tax provisions and Schedule M-3 adjustments
  • Experience with international tax concepts, including GILTI, FDII, and Section 163(j)
  • Strong research, analytical, and tax analysis skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field required

  • CPA certification and/or Master’s degree preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file Federal Corporation/Partnership Tax Returns and State Income/Franchise Tax Returns for several entities in different States.
  • Resolve any technical and e-filing problems related to the tax software.
  • Review financial records and communicate with accounting department and top management to understand the companies business activities so as to analyze the tax impact on these transactions.
  • Compile business data from each plant for tax apportionment & allocation.
  • Provide information and respond to Federal and State tax auditors.
  • Collect audit required documentation from accounting department and other plants and explain the Company's business activities and transactions to the auditors to help smooth the audit process.
  • Respond to the IRS and State notices regarding any tax discrepancies.
  • Perform annual tax provisions, true-up and tax disclosures in financial reports to ensure compliance of FAS 109 and FIN 48.
  • Prepare supporting documentation for all the tax adjustment and evaluate and compute the tax liabilities/ benefits caused by the IRS and State audits for financial disclosure.
  • Conduct research on tax savings projects.
  • Regularly monitor Federal and State tax regulation changes and inform the top management any possibilities of tax savings.
  • Compose recommendation letter and report to the top management to analyze tax effect under different scenarios.
  • Perform international tax calculation, such as Global Intangible Low-Taxed Income (GILTI), Foreign-Derived Intangible Income (FDII), and Section 163(j).
