About The Position

Hawks View Winery, located in Sherwood, Oregon, is seeking a Tasting Room Wine Sales Associate. This role focuses on providing guests with excellent customer service, educating them about wine tastings and purchases, and driving sales of wine, wine club memberships, and experiences. The associate will uphold the winery's values, vision, and service standards while working in a beautiful environment with breathtaking views.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 and over.
  • 1 or more years in Wine, restaurant, hospitality, or retail experience required.
  • Demonstrates acute attention to detail.
  • Takes initiative.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to focus for an entire shift, trouble shooting and prioritizing skills.
  • Must adhere to grooming standards that are consistent with company guidelines.
  • Sales ability to add on and upsell wine, food pairings, merchandise, and event tickets.
  • Must be outgoing and able to approach guests and initiate conversation.
  • Able to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Positive attitude, good conversational skills and enjoys working with the guests.
  • Able to engage the guests in a clear and professional manner.
  • Willing and able to work well under pressure.
  • Able to adapt quickly and flex to the needs of the business.
  • Work in high paced work environment.
  • Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
  • Able to stand, walk and bend for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to work in high and low temperatures.
  • Must be able to lift 40 - 50lbs regularly.
  • Must be available to work weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to multitask while staying organized.
  • Must have, or be willing to obtain, a Food Handlers Card and OLCC permit.

Responsibilities

  • Serve wine and food pairings to guests and club members.
  • Educate guests on wine tastings and wine purchases.
  • Sell wine, wine club memberships, and experiences.
  • Ensure the safety of members, guests, and associates.
  • Follow Hawks View values and service standards.
  • Maintain professional etiquette.
  • Introduce and explain the tasting process and various wines to guests.
  • Explain wine club membership benefits and encourage sign-ups.
  • Articulate winery policies, procedures, and promotions.
  • Assist with wine and merchandise purchases.
  • Watch for signs of intoxication ensuring guest safety.
  • Understand and adhere to environmental standards and safety practices.
  • Thank guests for visiting and encourage future visits.
  • Stock wine, glasses, and supplies.
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks.
  • Any other duties as assigned by a Manager.
