We're seeking a Task Force General Manager to join our leadership team! This very unique position will be based out of Mill Valley at our home office and flagship Piatti location, you will be working under the Piatti entity but will be covering other locations outside of the Piatti brand in our management group. It will require frequent travel to any of our properties with open leadership positions within a moments notice, an open and flexible schedule is required to be able to work weekends, nights and holidays! Our locations are throughout CA as well as in WA,TX, and UT. With most of our properties being located around the SF Bay, applicants from outside the Bay Area would need to be willing to relocate.

Requirements

  • Working knowledge of all FOH and BOH management aspects of a full-service restaurant, including service standards, beverage program oversight, kitchen partnership, and event execution.
  • Strong financial fluency, including budget construction, P&L management, prime cost discipline, forecasting, and labor productivity.
  • Ability to read a restaurant quickly, identify the most material issues, and prioritize action under incomplete information.
  • High emotional steadiness and the ability to inherit teams in difficult moments without losing trust or pace.
  • Concept-agnostic operating instinct, with the discipline to honor each restaurant's standards rather than imposing a single playbook.
  • Strong written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with modern restaurant systems, including POS platforms (Toast, Aloha, or comparable), reservations platforms (Resy, OpenTable, or Tock), and back-office tools (Restaurant365 or comparable).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state wage and hour law, with particular attention to tipped employee regulations.
  • Five or more years of restaurant management experience in a full-service environment, with at least two years as a General Manager.
  • Experience managing a restaurant with three million dollars or more in annual revenue.
  • Food Handling Certification, Food Safety Certification, and Responsible Beverage Service or TIPS Certification, or the ability to obtain these within thirty days of assignment.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and the ability to travel by air on short notice.

Nice To Haves

  • Multi-concept or multi-unit experience across distinct service models, ideally including both fine dining and high-volume operations.
  • Experience in Forbes Travel Guide rated or AAA Five Diamond environments.
  • Pre-opening or repositioning experience.
  • Familiarity with the Northern California, Sonoma, and Napa restaurant markets.
  • Conversational Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Operates with the same authority and accountability as a permanent GM during assignment.
  • Responsible for short-term planning and day-to-day operation of the restaurant, including guest experience, financial performance, team culture, brand standards, and the relationships with the corporate team and the surrounding community.
  • Partners closely with the Executive Chef on each assignment.
  • Works alongside the team on the floor when the operation requires it, with credibility in both the dining room and the kitchen.
  • Produces clear weekly updates and transition documents.
  • Gives and receives direct feedback and makes personnel decisions with appropriate documentation.
  • Handles confidential financial and personnel information with discretion and professionalism.
