About The Position

Our client, a professional services organization supporting government and defense programs, is seeking a Targeting Systems Analyst for an onsite, permanent position in New England, North Dakota. The role provides analytical support to targeting operations, working with the systems, data, and processes that underpin mission planning. This position suits an analyst with a disciplined, methodical approach and the judgment to know when a conclusion is adequately supported. The work is detailed, procedurally rigorous, and consequential, and it is carried out within a close-knit professional team.

Requirements

  • An active security clearance is required for this position, and candidates must be able to maintain that clearance throughout employment.
  • United States citizenship is required.
  • Prior experience in targeting, intelligence analysis, or a closely related military or government analytical discipline is required, together with working familiarity with targeting systems and analytical tools.
  • Strong analytical reasoning, disciplined attention to detail, and clear written and verbal communication suitable for briefing audiences.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is expected.
  • The role is onsite in New England, North Dakota.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States for the duration of the engagement.

Nice To Haves

  • Formal military targeting training or equivalent qualification is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience in an operational targeting cell or joint environment.
  • A bachelor's degree in intelligence studies, international relations, geography, or a related field is advantageous.
  • Experience with geospatial analysis tools, collection management, weaponeering, or battle damage assessment.
  • Any instructor or mentoring experience.
  • Familiarity with the intelligence cycle and with joint planning processes is valued.
  • Experience working directly alongside a government customer in an embedded capacity.
  • Candidates comfortable presenting findings to senior audiences and defending analytical judgments under questioning will be well suited to this position.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct targeting analysis in support of operational requirements, gathering and evaluating data from multiple sources, applying established methodologies, and producing assessments that decision-makers can rely on.
  • Operate and maintain proficiency with targeting systems and analytical tools, managing data inputs, validating system outputs against independent checks, and identifying discrepancies or anomalies that warrant further investigation before findings are released.
  • Produce written assessments, briefing materials, and target documentation to required standards, ensuring that products are accurate, properly sourced, appropriately classified, and delivered within operational timelines.
  • Coordinate closely with intelligence, operations, and planning staff, participate in working groups and review boards, respond to requests for information, and maintain the records and databases that support continuity of analysis across the team.
  • Support quality control across analytical products, reviewing the work of colleagues for sourcing, methodology, and adherence to standards before release, and contribute to the refinement of internal processes and checklists as tools, data sources, and customer requirements change over time.
