About The Position

The Targeting Support Lead serves as Peraton's senior targeting authority embedded within the USCYBERCOM J2 Directorate. This leader reports to the Peraton Program Manager for all contract and administrative matters while working hand-in-hand with J2 targeting cells and operational commanders. The Targeting Support Lead embeds within the command's targeting architecture to elevate capability across all cyber organizations and geographic commands, ensuring Peraton's targeting support is fully synchronized with the government's operational tempo and targeting priorities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 12 years of targeting or joint target intelligence experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of cyber targeting or cyber intelligence experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in a lead or supervisory role supporting GO/FO-level targeting decisions required.
  • Bachelor's degree required in Intelligence Studies, Operations Research, or a related field.
  • Must have Top Secret/SCI with CI Poly Security clearance
  • Expert-level knowledge of the joint intelligence cycle and joint targeting cycle.
  • Deep joint targeting experience in a DoD or IC environment.
  • Deep experience applying MITRE ATT&CK and D3FEND frameworks to targeting activities.
  • Demonstrated experience improving access-collect iteration cycles.
  • Proficiency with JP 3-60 (Joint Targeting) and JP 3-12 (Cyberspace Operations).
  • Experience ensuring compliance with joint targeting instructions and policies.
  • Meets DoD 8140 requirements for Joint Targeting Analyst (DCWF CE-131) at the Advanced proficiency level.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Prior experience with DIA Mission Management or Joint Target Intelligence programs.
  • Military occupational specialty equivalents: USAF 14N4/1N8, USN 1830, USSF 14N/58.
  • Familiarity with Joint Targeting Toolset-Cyber Platform (JTT-CP), Target Knowledge Base, and Cyber Threat Matrix.
  • Experience supporting CNMF targeting operations.
  • Background in weaponeering and collateral effects estimation.
  • Joint Targeting School graduate preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides oversight and support to targeting analysts across the J2 Directorate, elevating targeting capability across cyber organizations and geographic commands.
  • Manages processes for orienting tactical forces relative to adversary positions, maximizing operational impact and minimizing response time.
  • Coordinates rapid targeting support for force movement, access, and orientation in the cyber domain.
  • Reduces duplication of effort and increases efficiency across targeting functions through process improvement and coordination.
  • Analyzes team effectiveness and performance data, identifying trends for continuous improvement in timeliness, communication, and deconfliction.
  • Develops Target System Analyses (TSAs), Exploitation Target Folders (ETFs), target graphics, and Battle Damage Assessments (BDA).
  • Supports weaponeering, aimpoint development, and collateral effects estimation in accordance with applicable directives.
  • Ensures compliance with JP 3-60, JP 3-12, and applicable instructions/regulations throughout all targeting activities.
  • Coordinates with geographic combatant commands to synchronize cyber targeting activities and deconflict operations.
  • Applies MITRE ATT&CK and D3FEND frameworks to enhance adversary characterization and targeting precision.
  • Supports improvement of access-collect iteration cycles to accelerate targeting timelines.
  • Provides targeting expertise to support GO/FO-level targeting decisions and operational planning.
