Tapping Machine Operator
About The Position
Greer Stop Nut in Nashville, TN has an immediate opening for an experienced Machine Operator to operate Tapping/Threading equipment used in our manufacturing process to make internally threaded lock nuts frequently used in Aerospace and Military applications. This is a Full-Time Day Shift position, Monday - Friday from 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM. At times Overtime is also available. This position will be responsible for the operation and set-up of a number of different tapping / threading related machines. Additional duties include frequent inspection of finished pieces using specialized measuring devices (calipers, gauges, etc.), removing part waste and oil, lifting up to 35 pounds, documenting productivity records on paper and in computer, weighing parts, and moving parts on manual pallet jacks to the next operation. It is important to know that all parts are tapped/threaded in oil. Candidates for this role must be comfortable working with oily parts throughout the entirety of the day. Our locking nuts / fasteners are vital to the aviation and naval industries and are commonly found on commercial and military aircraft, naval ships & submarines, and much more. Requirements
- Prior experience operating machines in a manufacturing environment, or similar work experience
- High School Diploma/GED or higher
- Prior stable and relevant work history
