About The Position

Seneca Foods is seeking a hands-on, detail-oriented, and safety-minded individual to join their team as a Weekend Tankroom Operator. This full-time position is responsible for maintaining accurate documentation of processes, ensuring proper cook times and temperatures, assisting with product loading and unloading in the retort, completing preventative maintenance, and maintaining housekeeping. The role also involves processing Mara, bleach, glace, and syrup tanks, monitoring and maintaining various levels (brine, SO2, fruit and syrup brix, PH), operating the sugar recovery system, receiving product tankers, sampling for quality, monitoring fruit for bacteria growth, and checking equipment functionality. The operator must understand controls for syrup, steam, and water, and perform other assigned tasks.

Requirements

Internal GMP/HACCP/BRC Training
Excellent communication skills
Good computer skills
Complete work instruction/qualification sheet in allotted time frame
Trained and knowledgeable in the use of PPE (personal protective equipment)
Must pass respiratory fitness test
OSHA Forklift License

Responsibilities

Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all processes
Ensure that the required cook times and temperatures are followed
Assist in positioning the product into the retort and removing it when the cooking process is complete
Complete all preventative maintenance
Maintain proper housekeeping
Mara, bleach, glace, and syrup tank processing
Monitor and maintain brine and SO2 levels
Monitor and maintain fruit and syrup brix levels
Monitor and maintain PH levels
Responsible for sugar recovery system (APV)
Receive product tankers; collect sample to confirm quality
Monitor fruit for bacteria growth
Check equipment to ensure proper function
Understand the controls for: syrup, steam, water, etc
Other tasks as assigned
