About The Position
Bakelite is hiring experienced CDL Class A Tanker Drivers who want consistent home time, great pay, and a team that truly values professional drivers. This role involves operating a tanker safely to customer and supplier locations, following SOPs for safe chemical product delivery, adhering to safety regulations, maintaining a clean driving record, and safely loading/off-loading chemical materials. The schedule may include variable start times, weekends, and holidays.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Valid CDL Class A
- At least 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience
- No more than 1 chargeable accident in the past year
- No more than 1 moving violation (excluding parking) in the past year
- Must have required DOT certifications by hire date: Tanker Endorsement, HazMat Endorsement
- Valid DOT Medical Card
- Must comply with clean-shaven guidelines for respirator use
- Experience operating manual transmission
- Be at least 18 years or age
- Willing to take a drug test
- Submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process, as well as additional periodic background checks as required by the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Standards (CFATS) or regulations adopted by the Department of Homeland Security or other regulatory agencies.
- Candidates are required to have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
Nice To Haves
- Experience using Electronic Logging Devices (ELD)
- 1+ years hauling Cargo Tank trailers
- Experience with hazardous materials
