The Tank Farm & Maintenance Technician is responsible for the safe operation and maintenance of the wastewater treatment system, tank farm equipment, and facility support systems. This role performs wastewater treatment activities, environmental compliance checks, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and general facility maintenance to support production operations. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous industrial maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience operating wastewater treatment systems preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of pumps, motors, piping, electrical systems, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, procedures, and technical documents.
  • Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.

Nice To Haves

  • Industrial wastewater treatment experience.
  • Maintenance PM program experience.
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience.
  • Welding and fabrication experience.
  • Indiana wastewater operator certification (or ability to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor the facility wastewater treatment system and tank farm equipment.
  • Conduct wastewater testing including pH, conductivity, and other required parameters.
  • Perform batch wastewater treatment and discharge activities in accordance with company procedures and permit requirements.
  • Monitor tank levels, pumps, piping, valves, and chemical feed systems.
  • Complete daily, weekly, and monthly operational inspections.
  • Maintain accurate environmental and wastewater treatment records.
  • Assist with hazardous waste management and recycling activities.
  • Respond to spills and environmental incidents following company procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulations and permits.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) on facility and production equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and improvements.
  • Support maintenance projects and shutdown activities.
  • Maintain pumps, motors, conveyors, air compressors, ventilation systems, and utility equipment.
  • Complete work orders and maintenance documentation.
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and spare parts.
  • Support contractors and vendors during maintenance activities.
  • Follow all safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and environmental requirements.
  • Utilize proper PPE when working with chemicals, wastewater, lead-containing materials, and maintenance equipment.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards throughout assigned areas.
  • Participate in safety meetings and required training.
  • Crosstrain in other operational areas as needed.
