About The Position

SPATCO Energy Solutions is seeking a Tank Cleaning/Fuel Polishing Operator to join its environmental team. The role involves cleaning aboveground and underground storage tanks across a variety of industries and retail fuel settings. It requires close attention to detail, awareness of safety hazards, and handling petroleum substances. The position requires up to 90% travel, including trips that may involve multiple nights away from home. Appropriate equipment and safety training will be provided. SPATCO’s environmental division provides resource management and sustainable infrastructure services, including fuel filtration, tank cleaning, compliance, remediation, and Phase I/Phase II assessments.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Familiarity with and willingness to handle petroleum substances.
Mechanical and/or electrical knowledge and proficiency using hand tools.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work at medium heights, and crouch, bend, and kneel.
Willingness to travel, including being away from home multiple nights in a row.
Ability to work in all types of weather.
Ability to work efficiently under time constraints and work well with others.
Ability to adhere to safety policies and practices.

Responsibilities

Conduct tank cleaning and fuel polishing as directed.
Monitor and control equipment and instruments, and verify that equipment functions properly during and after cleaning.
Record data, gauge levels, record test results, and obtain instrument readings.
Resolve conditions that may affect safety, efficiency, or product quality.
Diagnose fuel systems and perform minor repairs.
Draw product samples to monitor processes and ensure standards are met.
Follow company procedures and safety policies and practices, including use of personal protective gear.
