About The Position

SGB-SMIT USA, a division of the international SGB-SMIT Group, manufactures power, distribution, and cast-resin transformers and custom solutions for data centers, industrial applications, and e-mobility. The Tank and Fit role performs hands-on transformer manufacturing tasks involving core and coil assemblies, processing, connections, and final testing. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, at least two years of manufacturing experience, and shift work. Transformer manufacturing experience is preferred.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of manufacturing experience.
• Occasional climbing, lifting, bending, and carrying of light to moderate loads up to 50 pounds.
• Frequently work at heights, primarily on work platforms and occasionally on step ladders.
• Some exposure to fumes, primarily from paint and adhesives.
• Shift work.

• Transformer manufacturing experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform jacking of core and coil assemblies at various stages.
• Install units in an oven or vacuum tank for processing.
• Clean, repair, or replace LTCs, in part or whole, as specified by engineering, and ensure proper timing.
• Braze leads and fabricate bus-work when required.
• Perform hand-taping connections when required.
• Grind lids and take them for re-assembly.
• Measure, calculate, and make necessary gaskets.
• Tank core and coil assemblies and make connections as required.
• Dress out and strip units at final test, including bushings, radiators, and ancillary items.
• Perform and verify all work in accordance with manufacturing methods.
• Maintain clean facilities and equipment.
