About The Position
The Angus/Talon Youth Educational Learning Program Internship is a valuable learning experience for both interns and host ranches. Through this program, interns get the chance to gain more knowledge of the beef industry encouraging them to join the industry in the future. Angus breeders host and mentor an intern who learns the ropes of their beef cattle operation. The Talon Internship program is a phenomenal opportunity for youth to learn firsthand about managing and operating day-to-day life on a ranch, and, in turn, participating host ranches get the opportunity to have a hand in mentoring the next generation.
Requirements
- College sophomores, juniors and seniors, along with graduate students, under the age of 25.
- Majoring in an agricultural related field of study.
- Upload a resume, cover letter and three references.
Responsibilities
- Learn the ropes of a beef cattle operation.
- Manage and operate day-to-day life on a ranch.
- Assist with preparing show cattle.
- Participate in artificial insemination.
- Assist with pregnancy checking.
- Assist with veterinary tasks.
- Perform fence maintenance.
- Perform irrigation tasks.
- Participate in Angus and beef cattle educational events and activities off the farm such as conferences, field days, etc.
