Fire Internship Program
About The Position
The Alabaster Strong Internship Program is designed for motivated high school students in the Alabaster community who want to explore the knowledge, skills, discipline, and teamwork required for a career in the fire service. Through guided education and practical experience, interns will gain valuable exposure to one of the most challenging and rewarding public-service professions. This paid internship offers students the opportunity to learn alongside experienced Alabaster Fire Department professionals and begin building a strong foundation for future education, training, and service.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in the 11th or 12th grade
- At least 17 years of age and able to provide parental or legal guardian consent
- Lives within the Alabaster community
- Available to work approximately 15–20 hours per week
- Maintains good academic standing
- Able to successfully complete a physical examination, background check, and drug screening
